International exhibition and conference on development of Turkmen power industry

The IV International Exhibition on the Key Trends of Development of the Power Industry in Turkmenistan and the Conference on the ongoing long-term energy strategy were held in the Turkmen capital. The large-scale forum was organized on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov by the Ministry of Energy and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The exposition arranged in the Exhibition Centre vividly illustrates the intense interest the international community shows in Turkmenistan that moves forward along the path of progressive reforms. That is evidenced by the impressive representation and number of forum participants. This year over 117 well-known companies and firms from 17 countries present their achievements at the exhibition in Ashgabat. These include the world’s leading companies from the United States, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Romania, Turkey, China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries. The companies which have been successfully operating on the Turkmen market as well as potential partners willing to establish business contacts on a long-term basis presented their potential and offers for cooperation.

A festive atmosphere reigned in the spacious halls of the Exhibition Centre during the opening ceremony, music played playing, young people performed national dances and girls dressed in national costumes treated the guests with traditional Turkmen food.
The cabinet ministers, the heads of Mejlis, ministries and departments, diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, representatives of the public organisations, journalists and many foreign guests attended the ceremony of opening the international exhibition.

The welcome address of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented at the opening ceremony. Congratulating cordially participants of the international forum on the opening of the international exhibition and conference, the Turkmen leader wished them every success in their work and expressed belief that the exhibition and scientific forum would provide a splendid opportunity to receive the information on current situation in the power industry in Turkmenistan, the ways and prospects for developing it and new large-scale ambitious projects. The President noted that “participants of these international forums will be able to showcase scientific and technical accomplishments of the industry, discuss various aspects of collaboration in such spheres as efficient and effective use of alternative energy sources and energy efficiency technologies and identify the options of further cooperation between Turkmen enterprises and numerous foreign enterprises.”

Outstanding achievements Turkmen power industry has gained in the epoch of new Revival and great reforms are widely presented in the expositions of the subdivisions and enterprises with the Ministry of Energy and Industry. The Turkmenenergo State Energy Corporation, the Turkmenenergogurlusyk State Concern, the Turkmenmashingurlusyk State Concern, the Turkmenenergonadzor Enterprise, the Asgabatenergo Production Association, the Turkmenenergoabatlayys Production Association, a number of sectoral ministries and departments and local business partnerships and holdings are represented at the exhibition.
The sections displaying advanced technologies and state-of-the-art equipment that are widely adopted in Turkmen power industry nowadays have a special place in the exposition. World-known companies from Germany, China, Russia, Turkey and other countries showcase their achievements, offers and know-how ranging from the environmental standards for construction projects, the use of energy efficient technologies to harmonious combination of creative architectural projects in the spacious halls of the Exhibition Centre. The achievements of neighbouring countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are widely presented in the exposition.

The Scientific Conference on development of the power industry in Turkmenistan was held in the conference hall of the Exhibition Centre in the afternoon. A film about the rapid social and economic progress that has contributed to enhancing Turkmenistan’s prestige in the world arena was demonstrated before opening the conference.
World-renowned foreign scientists and experts from the United States, Germany, Turkey, Austria, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and many other countries participated in the conference, which brought together participants representing Turkmen ministries and departments, research institutes, foreign companies and firms and international organisations accredited to Ashgabat.

Along with exchange of experience the large scale of modernisation of Turkmen industry in the epoch of new Revival and great reforms and the favourable conditions created in our country to develop the power industry stirred up the interest in the conference. Those speaking at the conference emphasized that Turkmenistan’s energy policy initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had identified development priorities for Turkmen power industry for the decades to come as well as specified the steps to be taken to facilitate integration of our country in global energy system.
Conference participants put emphasis on unprecedented measures taken today in Turkmenistan to modernise and re-equip power enterprises, implement ambitious investment projects, build new power transmission lines in the territory and beyond the country and industrial infrastructure facilities and delivered the reports on such topics as development of the power industry of Turkmenistan in the epoch of new Revival and great reforms, energy resources management, an integrated approach to power plant automation, automation in the power industry, etc.

The discussion of these and other issues highlighted a number of points of contacts, community of interests that made it possible to maintain a fruitful dialogue and identify the options of further collaboration filling them with new formats and incentives.

International forum closed in Ashgabat

The IV International Exhibition on the Key Trends of Development of the Power Industry in Turkmenistan closed in Ashgabat.
Large companies from over 17 world countries and heads and specialists of various sectors of the national economy took part in the representative forum organized by the Ministry of Energy and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The exposition arranged at the Exhibition Centre focused on the key options of development of the power industry in Turkmenistan. It provided a platform for the presentations and discussions between scientists, specialists and businessmen.

The conference on development of the power industry in Turkmenistan held in the conference hall of the Exhibition Centre was a splendid opportunity for foreign companies willing to implement projects on the promising Turkmen market to discuss such topics as the environmental factor, the use of alternative energy sources and energy efficiency technologies, energy resources management, advanced technologies of gas-turbine power stations, innovative solutions for power supply networks in Turkmenistan, development of the networks of power facilities, etc.

Turkmen specialists learnt about the expertise, a range of products and projects of foreign companies willing to establish business contacts on the Turkmen market. The forum illustrated that relying on best international practices and advanced technologies, Turkmenistan determined establishment of wide international cooperation based on equality and mutual benefit as a critical vector for the progress. During the conference it was underlined that by promoting the power industry, our country increases the volumes of electricity export that is in great demand on world markets.

Presenting the report at the conference, foreign partners highly evaluated the efforts taken by Turkmenistan to promote the new energy strategy aimed at fundamental modernization of the industry and the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. For this purpose all necessary conditions have been created in the country, including particularly the open door policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the favourable investment climate and the rapid economic growth.
Expressing deep gratitude for the invitation to participate in the forum, foreign guests emphasized that the meetings of this kind provided an opportunity to get more information about the existing potential, strengthen business relations and broaden fruitful collaboration.
After the international exhibition and scientific conference on the Key Trends of Development of the Power Industry in Turkmenistan was closed, the ceremony of awarding diplomas and certificates to forum participants was held.
